“Humility is not thinking less of yourself, it’s thinking of yourself less.” C.S. Lewis
I am a physician to many hundreds, nearly a thousand patients. Many of them hold me in high esteem, telling me they will do anything I ask them to. Asking me never to leave the practice, or to take them with me if I should ever leave. I say this with the highest of honor and sincerity: these patients are my gifts. I am humbled by their trust and I pray I never do anything untoward, wittingly or unwittingly, to lose it. Humility for me in the world of medicine is recognizing the place of the individual in this equation of health and delivery.
Yours in health,
Dr. Abha
